Movement in polls sees men fall, women rise
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's and women's cross country teams each saw movement in their respective U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Top 25 polls this week.
After a week off, the men's squad slipped six spots to 20th in the latest rankings, while the women's squad moved up three spots to 11th.
In addition to USI, three GLVC schools were represented in the men's poll, with upstart Drury University entering the poll at 17 and Northern Kentucky University falling five spots to 25th. USI also is ranked third in the latest NCAA II Midwest Region rankings.
The Screaming Eagles were the highest ranked GLVC school in the women's poll, with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside slipping 13 spots to 23rd in the latest rankings. USI's women also rank second in the latest NCAA II Midwest Region rankings.
USI remains idle this week in preparation for the Indiana Intercollegiates September 19 in Bloomington, Indiana.
