Men's runners make big jump in national rankings,
Women remain 11th in latest Top 25 poll
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Following a solid performance at the Indiana Intercollegiates this past weekend, the University of Southern Indiana men's cross country team made a huge jump in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' of America (USTFCCCA) Top 25 Poll.
The Screaming Eagles, who were fourth overall at the Indiana Intercollegiates, moved seven spots to 13th in latest rankings. USI also moved up a spot to second in the regional rankings, which were released Wednesday morning.
USI is among two GLVC schools in this week's rankings, with Drury University slipping a spot to 19th.
The Eagles remained 11th in the women's rankings after winning the Little State title and finishing fifth overall at the Indiana Intercollegiates. USI also remained second in the latest regional poll.
Joining USI from the GLVC in the women's rankings is the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, which jumped two spots to 21st.
USI returns to action October 4 when it competes in the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky. Races are scheduled to start at 9:15 a.m. (CDT).
