Williams wins 800 meters at Hoosier Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—Junior middle distance runner
Lacy Williams (Haubstadt, Indiana) finished first in the 800 meters to lead the University of Southern Indiana women's track and field team at the Hoosier Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Williams finished the race in two minutes, 20.61 seconds, less than three ticks off an NCAA II provisional qualifying time.

As a team, the Screaming Eagles had six top-five performances. Sophomore distance runner
Holly Bartelt (Huntingburg, Indiana) and freshman distance runner
Jackie Henderson (Schereville, Indiana) were second and fourth, respectively, in the mile, while freshman sprinter
Shelby Key (Chandler, Indiana) was fourth in the 200 meters.
Henderson also was fifth in the 1,000 meters, while the 4x400-meter relay team of Key, Williams, junior
Lauren Crick (Evansville, Indiana), and freshman
Brittany Rutledge (Westfield, Indiana) placed third.
The Eagles return to action February 13-14 when they compete at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan.
Curtis finishes 29th at USA Championships

Adrienne Curtis (Louisville, Kentucky) finished 29th out of 59 runners at the USA Junior Cross Country Championships Saturday morning. (
