Ballinger headlines Eagles' All-GLVC selections,
Five USI women's runners land on All-Conference squad
Indoor All-GLVC Release
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Headlined by junior All-American Mary Ballinger (Chesterton, Indiana), the University of Southern Indiana women's track and field team has placed five runners on the Indoor All-GLVC team as announced by the league office Monday.
Ballinger earned first-team honors, while juniors Allison Shafer (Plainville, Indiana) and Lacy Williams (Haubstadt, Indiana) as well as freshmen Holly Bartelt (Huntingburg, Indiana) and Adrienne Curtis (Louisville, Kentucky) earned second-team accolades.

Ballinger helped lead the Screaming Eagles to a fourth-place finish at the GLVC Indoor Championships when she finished first in the mile and second in the 3,000 meters. She also helped USI's distance medley relay team to a third-place finish.

Lacy Williams |
Shafer finished third in the 5,000 meters and fifth in the 3,000 meters, while Williams was fourth in the mile, seventh in the 800 meters, and competed on the Eagles' DMR team at the league meet.
Bartelt also had a strong showing at the league meet, placing third in the mile and eighth in the 3,000 meters, while Curtis was fourth in the 5,000 meters and seventh in the 3,000 meters to earn her All-Conference award.
Both Ballinger and Williams will compete on USI's DMR squad at the NCAA II Indoor Championships Friday at the NCAA II Winter Sports Festival in Houston, Texas.
Joining Ballinger and Williams on the DMR is senior
Christy Dixon (Owensboro, Kentucky) and junior
Lauren Crick (Evansville, Indiana). Ballinger also will compete in the 5,000 meters Saturday.
The DMR is slated to begin at 7:05 p.m. (CDT) Friday, while the 5,000 meters will be run at 5:35 p.m. Saturday. Streaming video coverage can be seen at
