Zehner finishes 18th at East Regional
University of Southern Indiana women’s golfer Amanda Zehner (Henderson, Kentucky) finished the NCAA Division II East Regional in 18th place with a three-round 253 (84-85-84). She was 21 strokes off the pace set by Longwood University’s Tiffany Woodyer, who shot a three-round 232 (82-77-73) and was 16 over par. The East Regional was hosted by the University of Findlay at the Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.
To advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships, Zehner needed to finish as one of the top two individuals not on a team advancing. Longwood, which won the regional, and Grand Valley State University advanced to the championship tournament, while Kathryn Bobbie of Ferris State University and Kim Keyer-Scott of Northern Kentucky advanced as individuals. Bobbie shot a three-round 235 (80-79-76) to place second at the regional, while Keyer-Scott shot a 236 (76-80-80) to place fourth.
