Two sign with USI women’s golf
The University of Southern Indiana women’s golf team announced the signing of Jennifer Dragan, a senior at Northview High School in Brazil, Indiana, and Megan Pendergraff, a senior at North Hopkins High School in Madisonville, Kentucky, to national letters of intent. Dragan and Pendergraff join Ashley Ramig (Milan, Indiana) in signing with USI head coach Don Bisesi and the Screaming Eagles for 2003-04.
Dragan lettered all four years in golf at NHS, helping the team to the 2001 sectional championship and the 2002 regional title. She also won the Western Indiana Conference championship as a sophomore, junior, and senior. The Brazil, Indiana, native also finished as high as 26th in the state.
Pendergraff collected letters in golf and basketball at North Hopkins. The Academic All-State performer won the regional tournament as an individual in 2002 and tied for 15th in the Kentucky State Tournament. The Henderson, Kentucky, native qualified for the state tournament each of her four seasons.
Pendergraff will join fellow Henderson native, Amanda Zehner, on the team this fall. Zehner became the first USI individual to qualify for the NCAA Division II East Regional this spring.
“We are very happy to have these additions to our team,” said Bisesi. “I feel like with these players, we can qualify for the NCAA regional and contend for the conference championship next season.”
