Zehner caps off spring with All-GLVC selection
University of Southern Indiana freshman women’s golfer Amanda Zehner (Henderson, Kentucky) capped off her first year with an All-GLVC selection. Zehner was named All-GLVC by having one of the top five season averages as computed by GolfStat and was not among the top five individuals at the GLVC Championship last fall.
Zehner, who was the GLVC Freshman of the Year with a seventh place finish at the league tournament, led the Screaming Eagles with an 85.0 strokes-per-round average in 2002-03. She also set the USI single-round and 36-hole records in her first collegiate tournament, shooting a two-day 154 (75-79) at the Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State University.
The former Henderson County High School standout also became the first USI women’s player to advance to the national tournament this spring, placing 17th at the NCAA Division II East Regional.
