USI places sixth in Ferris State Bulldog Fall Invitational
The University of Southern Indiana women’s golf team started the 2003-04 season with a sixth place finish after two rounds in Ferris State Bulldog Fall Invitational Sunday in Big Rapids, Michigan. The Screaming Eagle’s team score of 330 for 18-holes on Sunday and the 665 36-round tournament total are new USI records.
Leading the way for the Screaming Eagles was sophomore Amanda Zehner (Henderson, Kentucky) and freshman Megan Pendergraff (Henderson, Kentucky). Zehner, who was 19th after first round 83, climbed into a tie for 15th with a second round 79 and finished the tournament with a 162.
Pendergraff, who was tied for 12th after a first round 80, recorded her two-day total of 162 with an 82 Sunday.
The Eagles will remain in Michigan Monday and Tuesday, September 1-2, and play in the Radison\North Laker Fall Golf Classic hosted by Grand Valley State University at the Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Michigan.
