USI women's golf drives past eight Division I schools
The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team defeated eight NCAA Division I schools on its way to placing third in the North/South Women's Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Florida. USI took third place by shooting a two-day 661 (338, 323).
After two days, the Screaming Eagles finished 32 strokes off the pace behind Jacksonville University, which shot a 629 (328-301).
Individually, sophomore Amanda Zehner (Henderson, Kentucky) tied for second with a two-day 155 (81-74). Zehner's 74 in the second round fell one stroke short of tying the school record she set last fall at the Cardinal Classic. Freshman Megan Pendergraff (Henderson, Kentucky) followed Zehner with a two-day 165 (84-81).
The next action for the Eagles will be Saturday and Sunday, March 27-28, at the Northern Kentucky University Invitational.
