USI women's golf is 4th after two rounds
The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team was fourth after 36 holes of the NCAA Division II East Regional held at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan, Tuesday afternoon. The regional will be completed on Wednesday, May 5, with a final 18 holes.
The top two teams and the top two individuals not on an advancing team continue on to the NCAA Division II Championships, May 12-15, at The Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes in Longwood, Florida. The championships will be a part of the first-ever Division II Sports Festival in area surrounding Orlando, Florida.
As a team, the Screaming Eagles were third after the first round, shooting a team 328. USI struggled in the second round, shooting 341 to fall to fourth place. Ferris State, the regional host, led the teams with a team-total 638 (325-313).
Individually, USI was led by freshman Megan Pendergraff (Henderson, Indiana) with a two-round 160 (79-81), tying for 7th place. Northern Kentucky University's Kim Keyer-Scott leads all individuals with a two-round 153 (76-77).
