Zehner and Pendergraff named All-GLVC
University of Southern Indiana women’s golfers Amanda Zehner and Megan Pendergraff were named All-GLVC in an announcement by the league office Thursday, May 20. The pair from Henderson, Kentucky, qualified for league honors by having one of the top five lowest season averages, as determined by Golfstat, and was not among the top five finishers at the GLVC Tournament last fall.
Zehner and Pendergraff, who tied for the team lead with 80.6 strokes per round (spr) in 2003-04, led the Screaming Eagles to their first-ever berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament as a team and a third place finish in the East Regional. USI also placed second in the GLVC last fall.
Zehner, who is a two-time All-GLVC selection and last year’s conference Freshman of the Year, set a new USI single-round record with a 73 in the first round of the Northern Kentucky University Invitational and a new 36-hole record with a two-round 149 (73-76) in the same tournament. The sophomore led the Eagles during the spring season with an average of 80.5 spr in six tournaments.
Pendergraff led the Eagles during the fall season with a 79.9 spr in six tournaments. The freshman also held the USI 36-hole record for a short time, shooting a 151 (76-75) in the Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State University.
