USI women’s golf tied for fourth after two rounds
ALLENDALE, Mich. – The University of Southern Indiana women’s golf team completed the first day of the NCAA Division II East Regional tied for fourth in Allendale, Michigan. The regional is being played at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University.
After 36 holes, the Screaming Eagles (352-344) were tied with Northwood University (350-346) for fourth with 696. Northern Kentucky University (318-323) leads the tournament with a 641, five strokes ahead of Ferris State University (324-322) and Grand Valley State (324-322), who are tied for second.
Individually, freshman Audrey Ramsey (Muncie, Indiana) leads the Eagles and is tied for fifth overall with a two-round 160 (78-82). Junior Alisha Luigs (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) follows Ramsey with a 174 (83-91) in 20th place, while sophomore Ashley Ramig (Milan, Indiana) is a stroke behind with a 175 (94-81) and in 21st.
The top two teams and the top two individuals from each of the four regionals advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships to be held at The Championship Course at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico, May 11-14.
