USI women’s golf signs two
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women’s golf team announced that freshmen Audrey Wells (Evansville, Indiana) and Natalie Wolf (Evansville, Indiana) will play for Head Coach Don Bisesi’s Screaming Eagles in 2005-06. They are the third and fourth players to join the Eagles for the upcoming campaign.
Wells is a graduate of Reitz High School where she earned seven varsity letters in golf and basketball and was seventh this past fall at the Evansville City Championships.
Currently third on the Indiana Mt. Dew Junior Tour (Ages 17-19), Wells has recorded first-place finishes at the Sunrise Golf Course (Madison) and the Phil Harris Golf Course (Linton) this season.
“Audrey is a great girl with a good work ethic,” Bisesi said. “She is one of the leading players in the Indiana Mt. Dew Junior Tour and I am very excited that she will be able to help our team.”
A graduate of Mater Dei High School, Wolf is a three-time All-Conference and two-time All-City performer as well as a two-time regional qualifier.
In 2004, Wolf finished first at the Christmas Lake Golf Course (Santa Claus) in the Indiana Mt. Dew Junior Tour. She also recorded third-place finishes at the Quail Crossing Golf Course (Boonville) and the Cascades Golf Course (Bloomington).
“Natalie has the potential to become a very strong player,” Bisesi said. “She is a very good putter and enjoys that part of the game. I am very happy that she chose USI to continue her academic career as well as her golf career.”
Wells and Wolf join freshmen Tara Wiley (Oxford, Indiana) and Kayla Roark (Waterloo, Indiana), who signed national letters of intent to compete in 2005-06.
