Waggoner signs with USI
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team announced the signing of Kara Waggoner to a national letter of intent for the 2005-06 season. Waggoner is the third player to sign with USI and Head Coach Don Bisesi during the fall signing period.
A regional qualifier as a freshman, sophomore, and senior at South Knox High School (Vincennes, Indiana), Waggoner was a four-time Most Valuable Player for the golf team. She also has lettered in basketball at SKHS.
In addition to high school athletics, she has participated in the Pepsi and Mountain Dew junior golf tours since the age of 10. Waggoner was 12th on the tour this past summer with 74 points in five tournaments, placing first at Seymour Elks Golf Course and Rea Park Golf Course.
"Desire, enthusiasm, hardworker, and good student sum up Kara," said Bisesi. "She will play an important part in the future of women's golf at USI and I am excited about her coming here to join our program."
Waggoner joins Brittney Kyler (Columbia City, Indiana) and Renee DeCaro (LaPorte, Indiana) in signing with USI this fall.
