Luigs wins second straight tournament

TAZEWELL, Tenn. University of Southern Indiana senior Alisha Luigs (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) won her second straight tournament, winning the LMU Spring Invitational hosted by Lincoln Memorial Univesity at the Woodlake Golf Course in Tazewell, Tennessee. Luigs shot a two-round 154 (76-78) to win by five strokes.
Senior Carly Ellard (Evansville, Indiana) tied for fourth, 10 strokes behind Luigs. Ellard shot a 164 (78-86).
USI finished second to the University of West Georgia as a team, four strokes off the pace. The Screaming Eagles shot a two-day 675 (329-346), while West Georgia shot 671 (334-337).
The Eagles resume action on March 25-26 in the Northern Kentucky University Invitational at the Perry Park Golf Resort in Perry Park, Kentucky.
