USI women's golf is fourth after two rounds

FINDLAY, Ohio – The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team was fourth after two rounds of the NCAA Division II East Regional in Findlay, Ohio. The regional, hosted by the University of Findlay, is being played at the Findlay Country Club.
The Screaming Eagles shot a 660 (329-331), 15 strokes off the pace set by front-running Grand Valley State University. GVSU posted a 36-hole 633 (317-316) and was followed by Ferris State University at 643 (329-315) and Drury University at 644 (325-319).
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville finished the day fifth with a 685 (347-338), while Northern Kentucky University was sixth with a 687 (343-344).
Individually, senior Alisha Luigs (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) is tied for fourth with a 36-hole 155 (78-77). Luigs is followed by freshmen Kayla Roark (Waterloo, Indiana) and Tara Wiley (Oxford, Indiana), who are tied for 10th.
Both Roark (81-84) and Wiley (84-81) posted scores of 165.
The Eagles will conclude the regional Tuesday with a final round of 18-holes. The top two teams and the top two individuals not on an advancing team will move on to the NCAA Division II Championships May 9-13.
