USI signs a pair
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team announced the signing of Kimberly Gottwald and Jessica Dooley to national letters of intent for the 2006-07 season. Gottwald and Dooley are the fourth and fifth players to sign with USI Head Coach Don Bisesi this year.
Gottwald comes to USI from Concordia Lutheran High School (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) where she was a four-time letterwinner in golf. She was a four-time All-Conference and All-Area performer. Gottwald also helped CLHS to the Summit Athletic Conference championship in 2005.
Dooley is a three sport athlete at Concord High School (Elkhart, Indiana), lettering in golf, basketball, and softball. She advanced to the IHSAA State Golf Tournament as a junior and senior, while being named All-Conference all four years. Dooley was the sectional medalist as a sophomore and junior and helped CHS to the sectional championship as a freshman.
On the Indiana Mountain Dew Junior Golf Tour, Dooley was runner-up to the Golfer of the Year in 2002 and advanced to the Mountain Dew State Finals the last three years.
"Both of these girls are products of the state golf program and will impact the future of the USI women's golf program," said Bisesi. "I am delighted they are coming to school here."
Gottwald and Dooley join Kara Waggoner (Vincennes, Indiana), Brittney Kyler (Columbia City, Indiana), and Renee DeCarlo (LaPorte, Indiana) in signing for the 2006-07 season.
