Eagles two strokes off pace,
DeCaro fires opening round 77

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team will head into the final round of the Ray Wright/Screaming Eagles Golf Classic in second place after shooting an opening round 323 Sunday at the Cambridge Golf Course.
USI trails the University of Indianapolis by a couple strokes for first place and is 10 strokes ahead of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, which is third in the 13-team tournament.

Renee DeCaro (LaPorte, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles with a 77 and is currently in third place heading into Monday's final round. DeCaro trails UIndy's Kristi Piepenbrink, who shot a one-over-par 73, and John A. Logan College's Hannah Jenkins, who shot a 74.

Sophomore
Kayla Roark (Waterloo, Indiana), who led USI in this tournament a year ago, is in a tie for eighth after shooting an 81 Sunday.
The Ray Wright/Screaming Eagles Golf Classic concludes Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., an hour earlier than the original start time of 9:30.
