USI women's golf receives votes for preseason poll
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team received votes for the Golf World/National Golf Coaches Association NCAA Division II Preseason Top-25 poll. The Screaming Eagles received 26 votes in the preseason poll.
Ferris State University was the top ranked team from the NCAA II East Region with a number three ranking. USI and FSU were joined in the poll by Drury University, which was sixth and received a first place vote Grand Valley State University, which was seventh the University of Indianapolis, which was 17th Northern Kentucky University, which received votes and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, which also received votes.
USI starts 2007-08 season this weekend when it plays in the Lady Bulldog Classic, hosted by FSU September 1-2, and the Radisson Laker Classic, hosted by GVSU September 3-4.
The Eagles are led by junior Tara Wiley (Oxford, Indiana), who was All-GLVC and qualified as an individual for the NCAA II East Regional last year
