Carr signs with USI women's golf
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team announced the signing of Lindsey Carr (Frankfort, Illinois) to a national letter of intent. Carr is the first women's golfer to sign with USI and Head Coach Don Bisesi this year.
Carr is a senior at Lincoln-Way East High School where she is a four-year varsity letter winner in golf. She was the Most Valuable Player three straight seasons (2005-07) and was the 2007 regional medalist. Carr, who also was the 2006 conference medalist, tied for 35th at the Illinois State Championships.
In junior golf, Carr ranked seventh in the 2007 Illinois Junior Golf Association Player of the Year standings. She recorded three tournament championships and nine top five finishes out of 15 tournaments last summer.
"Lindsey (Carr) is a very long hitter with a lot of potential," said Bisesi. "She will be a great asset to our team and our quest for a championship next year."
The Screaming Eagles resume the 2007-08 schedule in the Eastern Kentucky University El Diablo Spring Invitational in March.
