Eagles sixth after day one at Drury,

HOLLISTER, Mo.—University of Southern Indiana junior Angela Dehning (Hazel Crest, Illinois) shot an even-par 72 and has a share of the lead after round one of the Drury University Fall Shootout at John Daly's Murder Rock Golf and Country Club.
Dehning, who is making her debut with the Screaming Eagles after two stellar years at Rend Lake College, shot a 35 on the front nine and a 37 on the back nine to enter the clubhouse tied with the University of Nebraska-Omaha's Erin Ommen.
As a team, the No. 24-ranked Eagles are in sixth place in the 20-team field. USI shot a 322 in the first round, seven strokes back of the lead, held by California University-Pennsylvania, Drury, and Nebraska-Omaha.
USI completes the season-opening tournament Tuesday. The Eagles host the annual Ray Wright/Screaming Eagles Golf Classic September 21-22 at Cambridge Golf Course, located south of the Hwy. 41 and I-64 intersection.
