USI finishes 15th in weather-shortened NSU Invitational

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team finished 15th in Nova Southeastern University's Shark Invitational at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The tournament was shortened from three rounds to one due to inclement weather.
The Screaming Eagles shot an 18-hole 353, 47 stokes off the pace set by Nova Southeastern. The Sharks won the tournament with an 18-over 306.
USI junior Kim Gottwald (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) led the Eagles with a 84 and tied for 43. She was followed by senior Tara Wiley (Oxford, Indiana), who tied for 49th with an 85.
The tournament was fall finale for the Eagles, who resume the 2008-09 schedule in March.
