Eagles win Bellarmine Invitational,
Dooley captures individual title

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team shot a final round 321 to overcome a three stroke first-round deficit and win the six-team Bellarmine Invitational Tuesday.

USI trailed Northern Kentucky University and Lindsey Wilson College by three strokes heading into Tuesday's closing round after shooting 326 to open the tournament Monday. The Screaming Eagles were six strokes better than the Norse, who finished second with a total of 650, and 13 strokes better than Lindsey Wilson in the final round.

The win was the Eagles' second of the academic year after they captured the team title at the Triton & Bear Invitational last fall in Madison, Illinois. It was also the second time in four years that the Eagles have captured the team championship at the Bellarmine Invitational.
Jessica Dooley

Junior Jessica Dooley (Goshen, Indiana) was the tournament medalist after shooting a three-over-par 75 Monday and an 81 Tuesday to finish with a two-round score of 156. It marks the second time in Dooley's career that the All-GLVC performer has captured an individual title—she won the Lewis Aviator Classic last spring.

Angela Dehning

Senior Tara Wiley (Oxford, Indiana) finished in a tie for seventh after finishing with a two-day tally of 162, including a 79 in the final round. Junior Angela Dehning (Hazel Crest, Illinois) led the Eagles in the final round, shooting a 78 to finish with a two-day score of 164, good for ninth in the 32-player field.

USI returns to action Sunday and Monday when it competes at the Vulcan Invitational in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania.
