Eagles lead after round one at Aviator Classic

LOCKPORT, Ill.—The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team leads by four strokes over second-place Drury University after shooting an opening-round 311 Sunday in the 12-team Lewis University Aviator Classic.
Junior Jessica Dooley (Goshen, Indiana), the defending medalist, shot a three-over par 75 to go into the clubhouse in a three-way tie for first in the 65-player field. Fellow classmate Angela Dehning (Hazel Crest, Illinois) is a stroke back in fourth place, while junior Kim Gottwald (Goshen, Indiana) is tied for seventh after shooting a 78.
The Screaming Eagles conclude the two-round tournament Monday. The GLVC Championship is April 24-25 in Marion, Illinois.
