Eagles two strokes back of lead at GLVC Championship

MARION, Ill.—The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team is two strokes back of the University of Indianapolis for the lead after one round of the GLVC Championship. The Screaming Eagles shot an opening round 325 Saturday, eight strokes ahead of third-place Drury University.
Senior Tara Wiley (Oxford, Indiana) and juniors Jessica Dooley (Goshen, Indiana) and Angela Dehning (Hazel Crest, Illinois) are all tied for sixth after firing off nine-over-par 81s in the opening round, five strokes off the lead held by Indianapolis's Kristi Piepenbrink and Lewis University's Amy Sachs.
The GLVC Championship concludes Sunday at the Kokopelli Golf Course in Marion, Illinois.
