USI is third at the GLVC Championships

MARION, Ill. -- The University of Southern Indiana women's golf team placed third in the GLVC Championships held at the Kokopelli Golf Course in Marion, Illinois. The Screaming Eagles shot a two-day 667 (325-342), just two strokes out of second place and 24 strokes out of first.
The University of Indianapolis won the conference championship with a 643 (323-320), while Drury University passed USI into second on day two with a 667 (333-332).
USI was led by junior
Jessica Dooley (Goshen, Indiana), who was named All-GLVC after tying for third with a two-round 161 (81-80). The All-GLVC award was third in three seasons for Dooley, who is the first USI women's golfer to be recognized three times by the conference.
Eagles' senior
Tara Wiley (Oxford, Indiana) followed Dooley in 12th with a 166 (81-85), while junior
Kim Gottwald (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) was 16th after shooting a 169 (82-87).
The USI five-person squad was rounded out by junior
Angela Dehning (Hazel Crest, Illinois), who shot a 171 (81-90) to tie for 18th, and freshman
Lindsey Carr (Frankfort, Illinois), who was 30th with a 179 (87-92).
