Alisann
Elpers,
Women's Soccer Assistant Coach
Alisann Elpers begins her second tenure as a USI women's soccer
assistant coach in 2008. Elpers was away from the program in 2007 after
helping Head Coach Krissy Engelbrecht as a student assistant coach in
2006.
Elpers will assist in all facets of the team, but will focus on coaching forwards and the offensive half of the field.
Prior to becoming a coach for the Eagles, Elpers was a four-year starter for the program. She finished her career at USI ranked in the top five in points scored (55) and goals scored (25). She also played in 69 matches, started 65, had six game-winnings goals, and was named honorable mention All-GLVC as a senior.
She was an All-State, All-Conference, All-City, and All-District player for Mater Dei High School (Evansville, Indiana) before joining the Screaming Eagles. She led MDHS to the 1999 and 2001 sectional championships.
Elpers started compiling a coaching resume before her collegiate career was completed. She served as the head coach of the Evansville Lady Blitz U-13 before taking over the U-14 squad that won the Owensboro United Cup Championship and the U-10 team that was undefeated in the EASA League.
In 2006, Elpers directed the Lady Blitz U-11 team to an undefeated championship of the EASA and to a number four ranking in Indiana. She was the Lady Blitz U9 Academy coach this past year.
Elpers and husband Justin reside in Evansville with their son James.
