USI splits a pair of double overtime matches
The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team split two double overtime matches last week. The Screaming Eagles defeated Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, 2-1, but lost to Quincy University, 2-1.

USI vs. Opponents
The USI Eagles will finish the 2003 regular season at Strassweg Field when they host the University of Missouri-St. Louis Saturday, October 25. Match time is noon. Prior to the game, USI will honor senior forward Aisha Earle-Smith, the team's only senior.

The Eagles lead the all-time series with UMSL, 4-3-0, but the Riverwomen have won each of the last three matches.

The GLVC Tournament
The Eagles hold their GLVC Tournament destiny in their own hands this week. A USI victory over UMSL Saturday will assure the Eagles a spot in the GLVC Tournament. A USI loss means that SIUE and Lewis University must lose one of their final two matches.

2003 Leaders
Senior forward Aisha Earle-Smith leads the Eagles with 17 points on seven goals and three assists. Sophomore forward Alisann Shetler is second on the squad with 16 points on seven goals and two assists. Freshman midfielder Kara Marcum is the USI leader in assists with six.

In the GLVC (October 13, 2003)
Senior forward Aisha Earle-Smith is sixth in the GLVC with 1.13 points per game. Earle-Smith also is sixth with 0.47 goals per match, while sophomore forward Alisann Shetler is ninth with 0.41 goals per match.

Freshman midfielder Kara Marcum is fourth in the GLVC with 0.47 assists per match.

Earle-Smith climbing up the charts
