Women's Soccer Coach
Krissy Engelbrecht
is entering her fifth season as the head coach of the USI women's soccer
program. In her first four seasons, Engelbrecht has accumulated a record of
25-42-3
overall.
Engelbrecht also led the 2005 Eagles to their first GLVC
Tournament appearance since 2000.
Engelbrecht came to USI from the University of Evansville where she was an assistant
coach. Under former Evansville head coach Mick Lyon, Engelbrecht helped direct the
Aces to the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in 2001.

In addition to her game and practice duties Evansville, Engelbrecht was involved with recruiting,
budget, camps, advertising, administrative duties, NCAA compliance, and alumni
involvement.
In the community, she is the director of player development for the Blitz/Lady
Blitz soccer organization.
Engelbrecht was an outstanding player for Evansville prior to becoming a coach. She was
a three-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year and All-Great Lakes
Region team member, leading the Aces to four straight MVC titles and two NCAA
Division I Tournament appearances. She was named to the MVC Hall of Fame in 2006
and the Evansville Hall of Fame in 2007.
Engelbrecht lives in Evansville with her husband, Jeff, who is a former USI
baseball player, and there son Aidan.

Mark Kennedy,
Assistant
Women's Soccer Coach
Mark Kennedy is entering his first season as the assistant women's soccer coach. He joins the USI program after seven years of coaching at various age levels in club soccer for Evansville United and Evansville Blitz.
Kennedy currently coaches the Blitz 97 girl's team, serves on the board of the Evansville Blitz in the capacity of boy's coaching director and program director, helps the development of boy's youth teams, and working with Krissy Engelbrecht in forming training sessions for all kids within the club.
Prior to coaching in Evansville, Kennedy was the head girl's soccer coach for three seasons at Calloway County High School in Murray, Kentucky. He led CCHS to its first ever victories over cross-town rival Murray High School and to a regional berth for only the second time in the history of the program.
CCHS also compiled season records for wins, goals, and shutouts while Kennedy coached the team.
Kennedy played collegiately for Georgetown College (Georgetown, Kentucky) where he was a team co-captain as a freshman and junior. He also coached numerous teams in the Lexington, Kentucky, area during his playing days at Georgetown.
Kennedy, who holds of a USSF "D" license and NSCAA
Regional and Advanced Regional Diplomas, resides in Evansville with his wife, Brooke,
and their son, Zachary.
