
(November 18, 2008) Freshman forward Meagan Kempf capped off her first season with the USI women's soccer team by earning All-GLVC honors. The four-time All-State performer at Bosse High School (Evansville) recorded 19 points on a team-best eight goals and three assists. Kempf, who is a nursing major, recently sat down with former USI women's basketball player and current sports information intern Jasmine Baines for a little Q & A. Below is what Kempf revealed:

Kempf: Meagan Lynn Kempf
Baines: When were you born?
Kempf: June 9th, 1989
Baines: Where is your hometown?
Kempf: Evansville, Indiana
Baines: Do you have any nicknames and, if so, how did you get them?
Kempf: No
Baines: What is your biggest sports accomplishment?
Kempf: Signing to play college soccer for the University of Southern
Indiana.
Baines: What is your best childhood memory?
Kempf: Going to Sea World
Baines: Describe yourself in three words.
Kempf: Athletic, determined, and compassionate
Baines: How did you get started playing soccer?
Kempf: My parents decided when I was in kindergarten to sign me up for
recreational soccer. I really enjoyed playing and have played ever since.
Baines: What do you like most about USI?
Kempf: It’s close to home but yet I still can get the whole college
experience.
Baines: What is the best thing about college life?
Kempf: I really enjoy living on campus with my friends.
Baines: What are your plans after college?
Kempf: I plan to work in a hospital as a surgical nurse.
Baines: Who has been the biggest influence on your personal life?
Kempf: My Granny because she always supported me in everything I wanted
to do. She was my biggest fan.
Baines: What is the best/worst thing about being a college athlete?
Kempf: I’m able to continue to play the game that I love.
One of the hardest things is trying to balance my time with soccer, school,
and a social life.
Baines: What kind of teammate are you?
Kempf: Dependable, reliable, and supportive
Baines: What was your reaction when you found out you were named
All-Conference?
Kempf: I was shocked and very excited at the same time.
