USI women's soccer adds two to 2008 roster
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team announced the addition of goalkeeper Chelsea Connell and midfielder Molly Pearson to the 2008 roster. Connell and Pearson are the 10th and 11th players to be added to the roster this spring.
Connell comes to USI after being a four-year starter at Alton High School (Alton, Illinois) where she was the 2007 All-Alton Telegraph goalkeeper for large high schools. The native of Alton, Illinois, also is a member of the Metro United Soccer Club.
Pearson comes to USI from AHS where she was a letterwinner in soccer and cross country. She was named second team All-Southwestern Conference in 2007 after finishing third on the team in scoring 28 points with six goals and four assists. The native of Godfrey, Illinois, is currently a member of the Metro United Soccer Club.
Connell and Pearson are a perfect addition to an already extremely talented class," said USI Head Coach Krissy Engelbrecht. "They will compliment the other freshmen very well with their athleticism, drive, and determination. I am excited to add all 11 incoming freshmen with a strong core of 15 returning players."
Connell and Pearson join goalkeeper Stephanie Bodamer (Highland, Indiana); forwards Natalie Hellyer (McHenry, Illinois), Meagan Kempf (Evansville, Indiana), Lovonia Lewis (Eansville, Indiana), and Nancy Newcomer (Parma Heights, Ohio); midfielder Martha Shetler (Evansville, Indiana); and defenders Allison Bevenue (Millstadt, Illinois), Samantha Smith (DeSoto, Illinois), and Carrie Grochowsi (Homer Glen, Illinois) in signing with the Eagles.
