USI soccer hosts SIUE on Sunday
The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer teams will play the second game of a doubleheader with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Sunday, October 13, at Strassweg Field. The men’s game will be at noon, followed by the women’s game at 2:30 p.m.
The women’s soccer game will feature a USI squad hoping to stay on track after its 4-0 victory over Brescia University in Wednesday’s nightcap. Sophomore midfielder Courtney Reeder (Carbondale, Illinois) led the way for the Eagles, scoring three of the four goals.
USI is 6-6-0 overall, but needs to get on track in the GLVC. The Eagles are just 1-4-0 in the league schedule, dropping a pair of conference matches last week.
The Cougars come to Strassweg Field riding a three-match winning streak and have not felt defeat in their last seven games. SIUE, 7-2-3 overall and 3-0-3 GLVC, won its mid-week match, defeating Washington University (Missouri), 2-0.
The Eagles trail the series 6-1-1 after dropping a 2-1 double overtime match at SIUE last fall.
