Alexander knocked in a cross from sophomore midfielder Kara Marcum (Evansville, Indiana) for her first collegiate goal. The assist was Marcum’s first of the year.

The Eagles held onto the lead despite being out shot 13-8 in the match. Sophomore goalkeeper Casey Hvratin (Evansville, Indiana) picked up her second victory of the year, making eight saves.

USI goes on the road next weekend in the GLVC, playing at Northern Kentucky University on October 1 and at Bellarmine University on October 3. The Eagles return to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field October 8 against Saint Joseph’s College to begin their final homestand of the year.
