Shetler's goal clinches tourney berth for Eagles

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Senior forward
Alisann Shetler (Evansville, Indiana) scored a goal as time ran out to lead the University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team to a 3-2 double-overtime victory over the No. 23-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers Friday night at Strassweg Field.
The win assures the Screaming Eagles (8-7-2, 7-5-0 GLVC) a berth in the in GLVC Tournament for the first time since 2000.

Julie Collins (Merrillville, Indiana) had an unassisted goal, her team-leading 10th of the season, six minutes into the contest to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead, while fellow classmate
Katie Grossman (Evansville, Indiana) used a feed from senior forward
Brooklyn Gant (Evansville, Indiana) less than two minutes into the second half to score the Eagles' second goal and give USI a 2-1 advantage.
UW-Parkside (12-4-0, 9-3-0 GLVC), which entered the contest in second place in the GLVC, knotted the contest at a goal apiece in the 30th minute of the first half when Kelsey Johnson found the back of the net for an unassisted goal. Johnson tied the game again in the 66th minute of the contest, this time using a feed from Erica Kollatz.
The Rangers out-shot the Eagles 25-10, but USI got 14 saves from sophomore goalkeeper
Meagan Homolla (Portage, Indiana), who lifted her personal record to 8-7-2 on the season.
USI finishes the regular season Sunday when it hosts Lewis University at Strassweg Field. Prior to the noon kickoff, the Eagles will honor Gant and Shetler as part of their Senior Day festivities.
