USI women's soccer wants to get on the right road
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team wants to take the right road as it travels to the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the University of Missouri-Rolla this week in the GLVC. USI plays UMSL Friday at 7:30 p.m. and UMR Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
The Screaming Eagles (4-9-0, 2-7-0 GLVC) have had their difficulties on the road this season, recording just one win in six contests away from Strassweg Field. The Eagles also are looking to bounce back from a tough last second loss to Quincy University last Sunday.
UMSL (8-5-1, 5-4-0 GLVC) welcomes USI to St. Louis in the middle of a five-match winning streak. The Riverwomen have three of the five matches on the road.
UMR (0-12-1, 0-7-1 GLVC), which hosts Kentucky Wesleyan College on Friday, started this week's GLVC action by dropping a 2-0 decision to UMSL and is still looking for its first win of the year. The Miners broke a 10-game losing streak last week by tying Drury University, 0-0, last Friday.
The Eagles defeated the Riverwomen last fall, 1-0, but trail UMSL in the all-time series, 6-5-0. USI defeated UMR last season, 6-0, and leads the all-time series, 3-1.
