USI dominates OCU in 7-0 win
Eagles out shoot Mighty Oaks, 54-0

-- The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team dominated Oakland City University and produced a 7-0 win Sunday afternoon at Strassweg Field. USI raises its record to .500 at 2-2-0 overall, while OCU falls to 0-2-0 in 2008.
The Screaming Eagles scored the only goal they would need in the first half when freshman forward Nancy Newcomer
(Parma Heights, Ohio) scored at the 32:20 mark. Newcomer scored her third goal in two matches when she put away the rebound of a shot by junior back Alison Conquest
(Crown Point, Indiana).
After making the 1-0 lead stand-up until halftime, the Eagles exploded for six goals in the second half. USI freshman forward Meagan Kempf
(Evansville, Indiana) had a pair of goals in the second half, while junior midfielder Katie Teagarden
(Speedway, Indiana), junior midfielder Kara Georgeff
(Highland, Indiana), freshman forward Martha Shetler
(Evansville, Indiana), and junior midfielder Shauni Boudia
(Noblesville, Indiana) each posted a goal.
Overall, the Eagles outshot the Mighty Oaks 54-0 and had an advantage in corner kicks of 11-0. OCU goalkeeper Kaci Weatherholt made 15 saves in the losing effort.
USI goes back on the road next weekend when it opens GLVC play at Missouri University of Science & Technology on Friday and at Drury University on September 14.
