EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Two early second-half goals proved to be too much for the University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team Friday night as it fell to Rockhurst University, 2-1, at Strassweg Field.
Rockhurst (4-1-1, 1-0-1 GLVC) scored in the 50th and 51st minutes of the contest to build a 2-0 lead.
The Screaming Eagles (2-5-0, 0-3-0 GLVC) fought back, though, scoring a goal in the 87th minute off the foot of freshman forward Meagan Kempf
(Evansville, Indiana) on a corner kick. Junior midfielders Kara Georgeff
(Highland, Indiana) and Shauni Boudia
(Noblesville, Indiana) were credited with assists on the play.
Defensively, the Eagles were led by freshman goalkeeper Stephanie Bodamer
(Highland, Indiana). Bodamer finished the contest with 11 saves, tying her season high.
The Eagles (2-5-0, 0-3-0 GLVC) return to action Sunday at 2:30 p.m. when they host the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
