EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team could not salvage a win out of the weekend homestand, losing to the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at Strassweg Field. USI falls to 2-6-0 overall and 0-4-0 GLVC, while UMSL goes to 1-4-1, 1-1-1 GLVC.
The Tritons scored all of the goals in the first half on just six shots. UMSL scored the first goal 5:38 into the match and completed the scoring with a goal at 31:59 and 38:57.
The Screaming Eagles outshot the Tritons, 12-11, overall and had the advantage in corner kicks, 2-1, but could not find the back of the goal. USI forced UMSL goalkeepers Mary Behrman and Hanna Sayre to make five saves.
The next action for the Eagles will be outside of the GLVC when they travel to the University of North Alabama Friday for a 7 p.m. match. USI returns home on September 27 to host a GLVC match with Kentucky Wesleyan College at 2:30 p.m.
