USI to host Quincy on Sunday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team puts its two-match winning streak on the line when it hosts Quincy University in a GLVC-match Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

USI (4-6-0, 1-4-0 GLVC) was a perfect 2-0-0 last week with a 1-0 shutout of the University of North Alabama and a 3-1 conference win over Kentucky Wesleyan College. The Eagles were led in each of the wins by freshman forward Meagan Kempf (Evansville, Indiana), who had the game-winning goal in both matches.

Kempf has a team-best 13 points on a team-high six goals and one assist. USI freshman forward Nancy Newcomer (Parma Heights, Ohio) is second on the team with nine points on four goals and an assist, while junior midfielder Shauni Boudia (Noblesville, Indiana) is third with eight points on two goals and a team-best four assists.

The Hawks of Quincy (6-4-0, 3-2-0 GLVC) have been on a roll the last seven matches, winning five times. Last week, Quincy split a GLVC homestand with a win over Saint Joseph's College and a loss to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

QU junior midfielder Becky Fleming leads the Hawks and ranks second in the GLVC with 16 points on seven goals and two assists.

USI trails the all-time series with Quincy, 6-5-1. The Eagles won the first five meetings, but the Hawks have taken six of the last seven.
