USI concludes 2008 on the road
Eagles to play at UW-Parkside and Lewis
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team looks to conclude the 2008 campaign on a winning note when it goes on the road for a pair of GLVC matches. USI starts this week's action Friday at the 10th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside and conclude the season Sunday at Lewis University.
Match time at UW-Parkside is 3:30 p.m., while kick-off at Lewis is set for 2:30 p.m.
The Screaming Eagles (4-10-0, 1-8-1 GLVC) finished the final homestand of the year last Sunday by breaking a four-match losing streak with a double-overtime tie with Saint Joseph's College. The overtime match was the third in the last five matches for the Eagles.
USI hopes to build on the tie by ending the year with a pair of victories. The Eagles lead the all-time series with the UW-Parkside, 8-6-0, after winning last year's meeting, 2-0, at Strassweg Field. USI also has command of the all-time series with Lewis, 8-3-1, and has won the last three meetings.
The Rangers of UW-Parkside (11-0-2, 7-0-2 GLVC) enter this week's action looking to end the regular season undefeated and secure the number one seeding in the GLVC Tournament. UW-Parkside survived a scare at Rockhurst University by forcing a 0-0, double-overtime tie and defeating the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 1-0.
The Flyers of Lewis (5-9-1, 3-6-0 GLVC) host UMSL on Friday before finishing the regular season Sunday against USI. Lewis is in the midst of a five-match winless streak, falling twice last week with losses at Drury University, 2-1, and at Rockhurst, 3-0.
