Meet the 2005-06 Women’s Tennis Team...

REILLY ACKERMAN
Sophomore
Mt. Carmel, Illinois (Mt. Carmel)
Major: Finance

2004-05: Named All-GLVC as a freshman...ranked second on the team in singles victories with a 15-8 overall record...was 7-2 in the GLVC...combined with three different doubles partners to finish her first year with a 14-9 record...partnered with her sister Kalie to produce a 4-2 doubles mark in the GLVC. HIGH SCHOOL: Advanced to the Illinois State Finals each season for Mt. Carmel High School (Mt. Carmel, Illinois)...also was the conference and sectional champion in 2003 and 2004 and accumulated a record of 99-16 during her high school career...helped MCHS to the North Egypt Conference title in 2002 and 2003.

AUDRA BARTELT
Junior
Jasper, Indiana (Jasper)
Major: Psychology

2004-05: Tied for third on the team in singles victories with a 14-5 record... led the team with a .737 winning percentage...combined with four different doubles partners to post a 14-9 mark. 2003-04: Named All-GLVC as a freshman...led the team with a 14-4 singles record, going 12-3 at number two singles and 7-2 in GLVC play...combined with Ashley Rees for a 10-11 mark in doubles play, 8-8 at number doubles and 6-3 in GLVC action. HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered four years in women's tennis at Jasper High School...was named  to the All-Big 8 Conference team each of the last four years and was honorable mention All-State in doubles in 2000 and in singles in 2002...named All-District in 2003 after producing a 20-8 overall record in number one singles...helped lead Jasper High School to four straight IHSAA sectional and regional championships ...JHS advanced to the IHSAA State Finals in 2002 and 2003.

MAGGIE COFFMAN
Sophomore
Sellersburg, Indiana (Silver Creek)
Major: Elementary Education

2004-05: Tied for third on the team in singles victories with a 14-9 mark...was 8-1 in GLVC action, playing in number six singles...combined with three different doubles partners to post a 9-8 record...partnered with Sara Wilhoite and Audra Bartelt to record a 3-2 GLVC doubles mark. HIGH SCHOOL:  Came to the Eagles program after lettering all four seasons at Silver Creek High School (Sellersburg, Indiana)...an All-District V and honorable mention All-State performer in 2004...named 2003 SCHS Most Valuable Player and helped lead the Dragons to s ectional championships in 2001, 2003, and 2004...also is ranked fourth in 18-doubles and 32nd in 18-singles in the latest Central Indiana Tennis Association (CITA) rankings.

CASSY FRODERMAN
Senior
Brazil, Indiana (Northview)
Major: Math

2004-05: Named Academic All-GLVC for a third straight year....recorded an 8-11 record at number four and five singles...was 5-3 in the GLVC...was 0-2 in doubles, partnering with Casey Clausman. 2003-04: Named Academic All-GLVC...ranked third on the team in singles victories with a 10-7 mark...was 4-3 at number five singles and 4-0 at number six singles...combined with Kalie Ackerman, Casey Clausman, and Ashley Rees to record a 2-1 doubles record.  2002-03: Named Academic All-GLVC...recorded an 8-7 singles record (1-0 at number one, 1-3 at number five, and 5-3 at number six) as a freshman...was a near perfect 5-1 in GLVC matches...combined with Kalie Ackerman and Laura Kay Watkins for a 2-4 record in doubles. HIGH SCHOOL: Collected letters in  tennis, basketball, and volleyball at Northview High School (Brazil, Indiana)...was the NHS Most Valuable Player and team captain as a junior and senior...member of the NHS sectional championship team in 2001 and 2002...also led NHS in points and digs as a junior.

ASHLEY REES
Senior
Vincennes, Indiana (Vincennes Lincoln)
Major: Advertising/Marketing

2004-05: Named All-GLVC and Academic All-GLVC for a third straight season...was 11-8 overall at number two singles, 7-1 in GLVC play...had a combined 16-8 record with Sara Wilhoite and Audra Bartelt in doubles...Rees and Wilhoite were 7-1 at number one doubles in the GLVC. 2003-04: Named All-GLVC and Academic All-GLVC...ranked second on the team in singles victories with a 12-10 record...was 8-8 at number one singles, but 6-3 in GLVC action...combined with Audra Bartelt and Cassy Froderman for a 11-11 mark in doubles play...Rees and Bartelt were 8-8 at number one singles and were 6-3 in GLVC duel match play. 2002-03: Named GLVC Freshman of the Year, All-GLVC, and Academic All-GLVC as a freshman...led the team in singles victories with a 16-5 record, 7-0 in the GLVC...posted an 11-1 record at number two singles...combined with Emily Blinzinger and Kalie Ackerman to post an 11-6 doubles mark. HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Vincennes Lincoln High School where she was a four-time All-Big 8 Conference performer and three-time All-District performer...earned first-team All-State and Indiana All-Star honors as a senior...finished her senior season with a 17-7 record at number one singles...earned VLHS's Mental Attitude award...had a CITA ranking of 22nd and a Western ranking of 71st.

NEWCOMERS.....

KIMBERLY DECKER
Junior
Brownsburg, Indiana (Brownsburg)
Major: Public Relations and Advertising

TRANSFER: Transferred to USI from Broward Community College...helped BCC to two NJCAA National Championships...earned the Coach's Award during her tenure at BCC...was one-half of the 2003 NJCAA Doubles National Championship duo. HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in tennis at Brownsburg High School (Brownsburg, Indiana)...was All-State as a junior in singles and All-State in doubles in 2001...also compiled a match record of 59-4...was the Most Valuable Player as a senior.


LESLIE-ANNE EADES
Freshman
Evansville, Indiana (Central)
Major: Public Relations and Advertising

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned six letters in volleyball and tennis at Central High School (Evansville, Indiana)...helped CHS to four sectional championships (2002-2005).


AUDREY GOEBEL

Major: Undecided

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned letters in tennis,  basketball, cross country and volleyball at Mater Dei High School (Evansville, Indiana).

Major: Biology/Pre-Dental

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in volleyball and tennis at Mt. Vernon High School (Mt. Vernon, Indiana)...was named All-Big Eight Conference and Academic All-Big Eight...also was named Most Valuable Player in tennis as a junior and senior and in volleyball as a senior.
