Clausman signs with the Eagles

Casey Clausman has accepted an athletic scholarship from the University of Southern Indiana to play tennis for the Screaming Eagles in 2003-04. Clausman joins second team All-State singles performer Audra Bartelt (Jasper, Indiana) in signing this year with USI head coach Keely Porter.

Clausman was a first team All-State performer in doubles at Lincoln High School in Vincennes, Indiana, as a senior. A four-year letterwinner in tennis, she was All-Conference as a sophomore and All-District and honorable mention All-State as a junior.

In the state, Clausman has been ranked as high as 27th in the Central Indiana Tennis Association Yearbook.

“Casey comes from a quality high school program,” said Porter. “I see her fitting in nicely with my team at USI. She should make an impact on doubles right away.

“I’m not sure where she will fit in as a singles player,” continued Porter. “Casey definitely has the ability to play both.”
