USI falls 8-1 to DePauw
The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team dropped its spring opener, 8-1, to DePauw University in Greenwood, Indiana, Tuesday afternoon. The Screaming Eagles fall to 8-5 overall in 2003-04.
Down 3-0 after the doubles matches, USI was able to capture only one of the singles matches. USI freshman Audra Bartelt (Jasper, Indiana) won at number two singles (6-4, 6-0) over DePauw's Claire Ellis.
The Eagles resume the spring schedule in Indianapolis this weekend for three matches. USI starts the weekend with a non-conference match with the University of Indianapolis Friday, April 2, followed by matches with Grand Valley State University and Cleveland State University Saturday, April 3.
