Froderman leads USI in Aces Classic

EVANSVILLE, Ind. –University of Southern Indiana senior Cassy Froderman (Brazil, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles women's tennis in the Aces Fall Classic, taking second in the "C" Flight. Froderman lost to the University of Evansville's Stephanie Millis in the championship match in the tie-breaker set, 10-5.

Earliler in the tournament, Froderman had defeated Evansville's Emily Krodel in a tie-breaker and Southeast Missouri State University's Juliana Negosek in straight sets.
USI senior
Ashley Rees (Vincennes, Indiana) placed sixth in the "A" Flight after losing in a tie-breaker to SEMO's Bryce Kristal in the backdraw. Rees had started the tournament with a loss to Eastern Illinois University's Sandra Sasidharan in straight sets, but bounced back to defeat Austin Peay State University's Elizabeth Wehelpley in the same fashion.
The Eagles resume dual match action by hosting their only homestand of the year next weekend at the USI Tennis Courts. USI will play the University of Missouri-St. Louis September 30 at 4 p.m. and Quincy University October 1 at 9 a.m.
