INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team started the spring schedule off on a down note, losing three straight matches in Indianapolis over the weekend. USI lost to Lake Superior State University, 5-3, Friday night 7-0 to Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis Saturday afternoon and 8-1 to Grand Valley State University Sunday morning.

USI started off well in the loss to LSSU, winning two of the three doubles victories. Junior Reilly Ackerman (Mt. The singles matches were all LSSU as they won the first five matches in straight sets for the victory. The sixth singles match was unfinished.

After being shutout by IUPUI, the Screaming Eagles tried to rebound against GVSU, but was only able to win one match. Coffman picked up USI's only victory in the 8-1 loss with a straight set win at number six singles.

The Eagles will resume action April 19 when they travel to DePauw University for a 3 p.m. (CDT) match.
