Eagles conclude fall tournament schedule at EIU

CHARLESTON, Ill. –University of Southern Indiana freshmen Katie Clagg (Terre Haute, Indiana and Kyla Dorsett (Columbus, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles at Eastern Illinois University's Panther Invitational with a pair of consolation championships in Charleston, Illinois.
Clagg won the "B" Draw consolation title when Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's Jaeda Gleghorn defaulted, while Dorsett won the "C" Draw consolation in straight sets over EIU's Cristina Carrillo, 6-3 and 6-4.
In doubles, Dorsett and freshman Gretchen Cantwell (Vincennes, Indiana) advanced to the consolation finals of the "B" Draw with a 8-5 victory over EIU's Carrillo and Annie Munch. The "B" Draw doubles consolation was cut short when Dorsettt and Cantwell were scheduled to play sophomore Emily Schum (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) and freshman Ashley Hashem (Auburn, New Hampshire). Schum and Hashmen earned a place in the consolation finals by defeating SIUE's Gleghorn and Marley Coghlan, 9-7.
The tournament concludes USI's fall tournament schedule. The Eagles resume play in the spring, starting GLVC action at Quincy University on March 30, 2007.
