USI women's tennis at ITA Great Lakes Regional
Ackerman wins opening match
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team began action in 2007-08 at the Wilson/ITA Great Lakes Region Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The tournament was highlighted by the return of junior Reilly Ackerman (Mt. Carmel, Illinois). Ackerman, who missed all of last season with a shoulder injury, won her first match of the year in straight sets (6-0, 6-3) over Stephanie Clark of Southern Illinois Univeristy Edwardsville.
Ackerman was the only USI player to advance to the second round of the annual tournament. Overall, USI was 1-4 in singles and 0-3 in doubles.
The next action for the Eagles will be September 21-22 in the Aces Classic, hosted by the uNiveristy of Evansville.
