EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team got four straight-set victories in singles play to clinch a 6-3 victory over Quincy University Saturday at the USI Tennis Courts.
USI (4-10, 4-3 GLVC) started the match by grabbing two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles competition. The Screaming Eagles notched wins at one, two, three, and six singles to complete the victory.

Reilly Ackerman (Mt. Carmel, Illinois) and sophomore
Michelle Girgenti (Greenwood, Indiana) teamed up for an 8-4 win at number one doubles before posting straight-set wins at number one and two singles, respectively.

Gretchen Cantwell (Vincennes, Indiana) also posted a straight set-win at number three singles after teaming with fellow classmate
Katie Jo Clagg (Terre Haute, Indiana) for an 8-3 win at number two doubles.
Freshman
Jodie Petty (Scottsburg, Indiana) completed the win with a 6-2, 6-1 win at number six singles.
The Eagles return to action Friday when they visit Northern Kentucky University for a men's and women's doubleheader. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m. (CDT).
