- CFDA - The Catalog
of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) provides a searchable database for
all federal programs available to the American public.
- Grants.gov -
Grants.gov is the government's portal for finding and applying for federal
grant opportunities. The database can be searched using various criteria.
Users can also register for a grants alert service based on personalized
interests.
- GrantsNet -
Sponsored by the American Association for the Advancement for the Sciences
(AAAS), this database includes funding opportunities in biomedical research
and science education. It contains programs that offer training and research
funding for graduate and medical students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior
faculty, as well as programs in science, math, engineering, and technology
for undergraduate faculty and students.
- GrantSearch - The Grants Resource
Center's (GRC) database contains descriptions, deadlines, and contact information
on nearly 2,000 federal and private funding programs of particular interest
to state colleges and universities. Users can search by text of program
titles and descriptions, GRC and CFDA numbers, subject areas, activity
types, and sponsors. The Sponsored Research Office (SRO)
subscribes to this database. Contact SRO for access information.
- IRIS - IRIS
contains over 8,600 active federal and private funding opportunities in
the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. In addition to funding
opportunities for faculty; users can search by sponsor, deadline
date, keyword, and other criteria. SRO subscribes
to this database. IRIS can only be accessed through USI either on-campus
or off-campus by dialing into USI's server.
- IRIS Expertise
Service - The IRIS Expertise Service enables faculty members at institutions
that subscribe to IRIS to create detailed electronic CVs ("biosketches")
and post them to the Web for review by colleagues at other colleges and
universities, program officers at federal and private funding agencies,
and technology-transfer departments at private companies. In addition,
users can search the database by multiple criteria, including name, institution,
recent publications, and research interests. This is a good resource
for finding collaborators. SRO subscribes to this database.
Funding Alert Services -- Sign
up for email notifications!
- EdInfo -
EDInfo provides 1-2 email messages a week describing federal teaching and
learning resources and ED funding opportunities. Other educational resources
are available at this site as well.
- Grants.gov -
Grants.gov provides a daily email message containing funding opportunity
announcements and related updates posted in the Federal Register that day.
Users can subscribe to notices by specific funding number, selected criteria,
or receive all announcements.
- IRIS Alert Service -
IRIS Alert Service allows users at subscribing institutions to create personal
IRIS search profiles and receive funding alerts automatically through email.
SRO
subscribes to this service.
- MyNSF - MyNSF, formerly the Custom
News Service, allows users to receive notifications about new content posted
on the NSF website. Notification can be received via email or RSS.
- NASA Research
Opportunities - The NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) Email
Notification System (NENS) allows users to subscribe to this alert system
in order to receive email notifications containing program announcements,
updated information, publications, and upcoming NASA events.
- NIAID
Funding News - NIAID Funding News provides funding, policy,
and other timely information to National Institute of Allergy and Infectious
Disease's (NIAID) extramural research community. Users can register to
receive instant emails for new initiatives, concepts, policy notices,
and more.
- NIH Guide
for Grants and Contracts - The NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts
is the official publication for medical and behavioral research grant
policies, guidelines and funding opportunities. A weekly email includes
links to the current NIH Guide Weekly Publication and to each NIH guide
RFA, PA and notice published for that week.

Newsletters and journals from the U.S. Department of Education. Includes a
list of resources that provide a variety of information about updates and
opportunities.
- FedBizOpps - FedBizOpps.gov is
the single government point-of-entry (GPE) for Federal government procurement
opportunities over $25,000. Government buyers are able to publicize their
business opportunities by posting information directly to FedBizOpps via
the Internet.
- Federal Register -
A daily publication of federal research and development grant and contract
opportunities.
- FirstGov.gov - FirstGov.gov
is the official U.S. gateway to all government information. Users may select
customer gateways–citizens, businesses and nonprofits, federal employees,
and government to government–to find information from an ever-growing
collection of topical and customer-focused links that connect to millions
of web pages–from the federal government, local and tribal governments
and to foreign nations around the world.
- GovCon - GovCon
is a VertMarkets marketplace for industry professionals. The site includes
a variety of resources regarding federal research and development contract
opportunities, trade publications, and other research news.
- HRSA Open Opportunites -
This Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) site announces
discretionary competitive grants.
- NIH Guide -
A weekly publication of NIH biomedical and behavioral research and research
training opportunities. Users can search and review the guide here or subscribe
to it.
- NSF Bulletin -
