Tthe 61st Pott Foundation Tri-State Science and Engineering Fair has been scheduled for March 11th and 12th, 2010 and will once again be held on the campus of the University of Southern Indiana and sponsored by the Pott Foundation and the Pott College of Science and Engineering. New for the 2010 science fair is student registration expansion to include grades four and five.
Last year, a record of more than 600 student projects was judged and nearly 650 area elementary, middle and high school students arrived on campus for field trips during the science fair open house. Quite an impression was made not only by the high quantity of exhibits but also by the phenomenal quality of science demonstrated by these participants. Six $1500 renewable USI scholarships were awarded, as well as several laptop computers and monetary awards.
Special congratulations go out to Tommy Dauer, who attends Castle High School, and Tony Huang, who attends Reitz High School. They were the 2009 Senior Division Grand Award winners and qualified to compete at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Reno, Nevada in May 2009.
